What it does and when to use it
Ctrl+Shift+4 (Ctrl+$) applies the currency format with two decimals and thousands separators. Select the column with Ctrl+Shift+Down first and the whole thing formats at once.
The common mistake
Trying Cmd+Shift+4 on a Mac, which takes a screenshot. Use Control, not Cmd, for the number formats on a Mac.
