What it does and when to use it

Ctrl+Shift+1 (Ctrl+!) applies the number format with two decimals and a thousands separator, the standard look for amounts in a report. It is the format most models use instead of currency symbols.

The common mistake

Applying it to a count or a year, which then shows as 2,026.00.
