What it does and when to use it
Transpose turns a copied row into a column or a column into a row on paste. Assumptions laid out across a row become a tidy input column in three presses.
The common mistake
Transposing formulas with relative references, which then point at the wrong cells. Paste values and transpose, or fix the references.

Questions
Can I transpose with a formula instead?
Yes, =TRANSPOSE(range) returns a live transposed copy. Paste Special gives a static one.
